Voga alla veneta is a unique standing rowing technique developed in the Venetian Lagoon and surrounding areas. It’s a traditional sport deeply rooted in local culture, practiced competitively by many Venetians.
Throughout the year, numerous regattas featuring traditional boats take place across the city, culminating in the spectacular Historical Regatta (Regata Storica).
Venice is home to 33 rowing clubs, participating in over 120 regattas annually—a true testament to the city's vibrant rowing heritage.
